What is PSYCH-K®?

PSYCH-K® stands for psychological kinesiology and is a mind-body change process designed to help transform limiting subconscious beliefs quickly and gently. Originated by Rob Williams in 1989 and is popularly characterized as a spiritual process with psychological and physical benefits.

Most of our thoughts, behaviours, habits, and emotional patterns are influenced by the subconscious mind.
If we want lasting change, we often need to work at that level, not just through willpower, insight, or positive thinking alone.

A simple way to understand this is that you need to rewrite the subconscious programs that may be holding you back,
so your beliefs begin to match the life you want to create.

Why changing beliefs matter

It matters because many women carry core limiting beliefs that
began in childhood such as:

  • I am not lovable just as I am

  • I am not enough just as I am

  • I need to be perfect to be loved

  • I am not worthy

  • I can’t trust my gut

  • It’s not okay to want what I want

  • It’s not safe to speak my mind

The beliefs sit beneath the surface and shape our thoughts, emotions, the choices we make and how
we behave, which in turn creates the life that we are living right now.
Even when we consciously want something different it is hard to make long lasting changes because
old subconscious beliefs keep us stuck in fear, doubt, or self-sabotaging patterns. For example:

In relationships ~ You may stay quiet about your needs, settle for less, or keep trying to be more pleasing,
easier, or less of a burden because deep down you do not feel lovable, worthy, or safe to speak your truth.

With money ~ You may undercharge, avoid financial decisions, or hold yourself back from asking for more
because you do not feel worthy, ready enough, or able to trust yourself.

In mothering ~ You may pressure yourself to be everything for everyone, feel guilty for having needs, or question
yourself constantly because you believe you have to be perfect or selfless to be enough.

In career and purpose ~ You may hide your gifts, overwork, stay too small, or silence your inner knowing
because it does not feel safe to want more, ask for more, or be fully seen.

How PSYCH-K® works

PSYCH-K® uses a combination of muscle testing, whole-brain integration, and simple processes to help shift old beliefs into new ones that feel more supportive and aligned. It is gentle, non-invasive, and often surprisingly quick.

In just minutes, it’s possible to move from a subconscious belief that you feel is keeping you stuck to a new belief that helps you feel freer, safer, and more aligned with what you want.

For example, if you believe you are not good enough in a certain area of your life, that belief is likely affecting how you show up, what you choose, and what you allow. When that belief begins to shift, your inner story can also begin to change and you can move from fear towards what you want instead.

Examples of belief shifts

Here are some examples of disempowering beliefs and the more supportive beliefs that can replace them:
